Florence, Kentucky - SWECO, A Business Unit of M-I L.L.C., announces the NEA series of air classifiers from the recent acquisition of Ecutec S.L. headquartered in Barcelona, Spain. Developed specifically for ultra-fine products with high added value, these classifiers can be constructed in stainless steel and a GMP finish, making them suitable for the food and chemical industries as well.
The NEA is designed to produce fine powders by separating a defined grain size from a fed turbulent air flow accomplished by creating a virtual mesh with a fast rotating classifier wheel. The suction force of the air stream normally produced by a ventilator forces the fine particles through the vertical wheel into a filter where they are then separated from the air stream. The coarse particles fall down and are washed out again through new incoming air and feed material. These classifiers are suitable for a variety of dry powders especially for high-added value products like abrasives, metals, toners and pharmaceuticals. The direct drive of the classifier wheel guarantees the highest possible tip speeds allowing the NEA to produce very fine products.
The features and benefits of NEA classifiers are numerous including solid ceramic rotors available in alumina, silicone carbide and silicone nitrite which make the NEA a perfect classifier for abrasives and non-ferrous production. Additionally, these classifiers are easy to clean and maintain and have a very low specific energy consumption.
With more than 60 years of separation technology experience, SWECO serves the pharmaceutical, chemical, food, minerals, paper, and many other industries with a complete line of separation, sizing and milling equipment.
